Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to provide an enriching and engaging English language learning experience to learners while promoting quality teaching and effective learning of English. The role also supports the broader aims of the British Council and its cultural relations mission.
Role Context: As a Core Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the British Council’s global English strategy by delivering high-quality teaching in line with the British Council Global Teaching Standards. You will also contribute to the organization’s reputation as a world leader in English Language Teaching (ELT) and participate in ongoing professional development to maintain the highest standards of teaching and learning.
Main Accountabilities:
Teaching:
- Develop and deliver high-quality English language teaching that caters to diverse customer groups, taking into account individual learning needs and modes of learning.
- Ensure that teaching meets British Council Global Teaching Standards and aligns with organizational and learner expectations.
- Monitor students’ progress and provide regular feedback to promote learner autonomy and progress.

Arts Cluster Project Coordinator
Role Purpose:
Supports the Arts programme team in the implementation of programmes and projects in Morocco and Maghreb (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria) in compliance with British Council policies and procedures including financial admin, reporting and data collection, operational project delivery and managing relations with delivery partners.
Main Accountabilities:
Managing self and others
- Holds vendors and suppliers to account for delivering services.
- Has the ability to work independently and manage workload against project deadlines.
Financial Support
- Plans and reports on project financial plans and budget expenditure and forecasting to Programme Managers; manages smaller budgets.
- Maintains clear and up-to-date records on all financial transactions as per audit requirements.
- Ensures relationships with vendors are maintained and payments are processed on time and in accordance with FABS on-line system (SAP Finance) guidelines.
- Compliance to BC financial policies and procedures.
Project Coordination
- Responsible for data management including timely data entry, quality assurance of data, undertaking basic analysis of monitoring data, and developing progress reports to meet needs of funders.
- Supports internal compliance such as due diligence, records management, data collection and storage.
- Manages grants administration, selection & evaluation, and procurement processes.
- Manages events-based components and trainings within a programme.

Arts Cluster Project Manager
Role Purpose:
The Maghreb Arts Cluster Manager in Morocco will be responsible for delivering our arts programme portfolio in Morocco and the Maghreb cluster (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria). He/She will work with a small team of colleagues in Maghreb and the broader MENA region to plan and deliver impact for the local cultural sector and UK cultural professionals. He/She will also contribute to the delivery of potential regional and global multi-country projects that involve Maghreb as and when required.
The Maghreb Arts Cluster Manager in Morocco will be responsible for the implementation of projects with a low medium/low level of complexity funded by British Council or by another client or funding mechanism – delivered through some or all of the Arts four global programmes: Culture Connects, Spotlights on Culture, Creative Economy and Arts Responds to Global Challenges. He/She will lead the successful delivery of a range of projects from start to finish including managing the contract or project plan, managing client or internal stakeholders, successfully achieving reporting and meeting compliance standards.
Main Accountabilities:
Sector mobilisation
- Uses their own knowledge on the arts and creative industries, intelligence and insight from other sector stakeholders, opinion formers and funders to support the ongoing development of cluster or regional arts programmes that will meet the specific needs of Morocco and Maghreb while also providing value to a diverse range of UK arts and creative industry organisations.
- Through ongoing relationships with the Global and regional Arts team, builds and maintains good understanding of UK arts and creative industry sector priorities as well as Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and other Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) priorities.
- Identifies and develops opportunities for the UK Arts sector to work in and collaborate with peers in Morocco and Maghreb.
Relationship & Stakeholder management
- Develops and maintains relationships with delivery partners and stakeholders within Morocco (and other Maghreb countries) and is able to procure services and contract delivery partners.
- Holds suppliers to account for delivering against grant agreement or contract.
- Communicates internally and externally about a project’s success/challenges and lessons learned.
Leadership & Management
- Manages Arts Programme Coordinator / delivery team.
